Vision Karnataka Foundation Signs Strategic MoA with Kishkinda University to Launch India’s First Export-Oriented Incubation Cluster

Vision Karnataka Foundation (VKF) achieved a significant milestone in advancing Karnataka’s export-led entrepreneurship ecosystem by signing a strategic Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Kishkinda University at the Innovation Summit 2026, held at the NIMHANS Convention Hall, Bengaluru.
This partnership represents a critical step in VKF’s long-term vision to build institution-anchored, regionally driven, and globally connected export ecosystems, enabling enterprises from Karnataka to integrate into international value chains.
MoA Signing Ceremony
The MoA was signed by Mr. Kishor Jagirdar, President, Vision Karnataka Foundation, and Dr. T. Nagabhushan, Vice Chancellor, Kishkinda University, in the presence of:
- Dr. S. Nagendra, Director – Strategic Interventions, Vision Karnataka Foundation.

The signing marked the formal commencement of a collaborative initiative aimed at strengthening export-oriented entrepreneurship through academic, industry, and institutional convergence.
Launch of India’s First Export-Oriented Incubation Cluster
Through this collaboration, Vision Karnataka Foundation is spearheading the launch of India’s first Export-Oriented Incubation Cluster, with Kishkinda University designated as the central hub under a hub-and-spoke model spanning Ballari district and surrounding regions.
The cluster is designed to function as a comprehensive platform supporting first-time exporters, MSMEs, agri-enterprises, and innovation-driven ventures, enabling them to scale into global markets with structured institutional support.
Key Focus Areas of the Incubation Cluster
The Export-Oriented Incubation Cluster will deliver end-to-end support across the export value chain, with a focus on:
- Export readiness and regulatory compliance aligned with global standards
- International market access and global trade linkages
- Product-led and research-driven export development
- Strengthening end-to-end value chains
- Quality enhancement, standardization, certification, and yield improvement
This integrated framework reflects VKF’s commitment to building sustainable and competitive export enterprises through systematic, institution-led interventions.
Institutional Support and Financial Enablement
The initiative is backed by leading national and state institutions including APEDA, KAPPEC, VTPC, EXIM Bank, SIDBI, and NABARD, with support from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and the Ministry of MSME.
A key component of the cluster is financial enablement, facilitating access to trade finance instruments, export credit facilities, and overdraft support of up to ₹250 crore, aimed at accelerating scalable and sustainable export growth.
Industry Participation and Ecosystem Confidence
The MoA signing ceremony also witnessed participation from FKCCI, IndusInd Bank, along with leading export promotion councils and industry associations, highlighting strong industry confidence in VKF’s export-led incubation and cluster development model.
