About The Competition

The Innovation Competition 2026 is an integral part of the Vision Karnataka Foundation's Innovation Summit, scheduled to culminate on 22nd January 2026. The competition aims to identify, recognize, and support innovative solutions that address social, economic, agricultural, Technological and environmental challenges in alignment with Karnataka's vision for sustainable and inclusive growth. The initiative provides a national platform for innovators, startups, students, researchers, and social entrepreneurs to present their impactful ideas and scalable models before a distinguished jury panel and industry stakeholders.

Launch Announcement - Official launch of Innovation Competition and opening of online application portal
December 10, 2025 – January 10, 2026 (5:00 PM)
Application Period - Submission of proposals via VKF's online portal or email
January 10–12, 2026
Evaluation Round 1 - Internal committee screening based on eligibility and innovation merit
January 12–15, 2026
Evaluation Round 2 - Presentation by shortlisted candidates to expert jury
January 18, 2026
Final Selection & Intimation - Notification to top finalists and winners
January 22, 2026
Award Ceremony - Prize distribution & recognition during the Innovation Summit

Who Can Apply

Innovators, Startups, MSMEs, NGOs, academic teams

Innovation Type

Technological, social, or agri-based innovations

Development Stage

Minimum prototype or pilot implementation required

Impact

Demonstrable social or environmental impact

Categories of Innovation

Technological / Patentable Innovations

Hardware, agri-tech, clean energy, water, health-tech, etc.

Social Impact Innovations

Community-led, livelihood, inclusion, education, or sustainability solutions

Jury Panel

The Jury will comprise eminent personalities from:

  • Government and Policy Experts (from departments such as MSME, Startup, Agriculture, and RDPR)
  • Industry Leaders and Investors
  • Incubation and Innovation Experts
  • Academia and Research Institutions
  • CSR and Development Sector Representatives

(Final Jury panel to be announced by 25th November 2025.)

Selected innovators will be considered for incubation and mentoring under VKF's incubation program and partner institutions

There will be ten prizes worth 10,000 each.

Rules & General Conditions
1 Originality

The idea or project must be original and not infringe on any existing intellectual property rights.

2 Stage of Development

Concepts at an idea stage without proof of concept will not be considered.

3 Ownership

The applicant must own or have full rights to present the innovation.

4 Submission Format

Applications must be submitted through the official VKF online form or email.

5 Submission Details

Each submission should include a summary of the innovation (max 500 words), impact statement, prototype image/video (optional), and team details.

6 Number of Entries

Each applicant/team can submit only one entry in a chosen category.

7 Evaluation Decision

All decisions made by the Jury will be final and binding.

8 Disqualification

Entries with false information, plagiarism, or incomplete data will be automatically disqualified.

9 Presentation Requirement

Shortlisted participants must be available to present their ideas before the Jury either online or in-person.

10 Publicity & Consent

By submitting the entry, participants consent to the use of their project information for promotion and documentation purposes by Vision Karnataka Foundation.

11 Support Post-Awards

Winners may be required to collaborate with VKF for mentoring, incubation, or further project development.
