Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and driven MSME Procurement Manager to lead procurement processes involving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within a social impact framework. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in procurement, vendor management, and development partnerships, especially in the MSME ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage procurement strategies aligned with social impact goals, focusing on MSME vendor inclusion and development.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard MSMEs for various procurement requirements across projects.
- Ensure transparent, cost-effective, and timely procurement processes in compliance with internal and donor guidelines.
- Build and maintain a database of verified MSME vendors across categories (manufacturing, services, artisans, women-led units, etc.).
- Support local sourcing initiatives, promote sustainable procurement practices, and facilitate market linkages.
- Work closely with program, finance, and legal teams to streamline procurement documentation and contract execution.
- Track procurement timelines, performance metrics, and vendor satisfaction.
- Prepare periodic procurement reports and contribute to audits, reviews, and impact assessments.
- Coordinate with government departments, trade bodies, and chambers of commerce for MSME outreach and partnerships.
Experience
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in the MSME or social impact sector.
- Experience working with grassroots organizations, social enterprises, or development programs.
Requirement
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Skills & Competencies:
1. Strong understanding of MSME policies, schemes, and sectoral challenges in India.
2. Proven ability in vendor management, negotiation, and procurement processes.
3. Familiarity with compliance and documentation norms in social sector procurement.
4. Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
5. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and procurement software/tools. - Desirable Attributes:
1. Passion for inclusive development and empowering small businesses.
2. Knowledge of regional/local MSME ecosystems, especially women-led or rural enterprises.
